For more than 20 years now, common rail fuel injections systems have been fitted to almost all diesel engines. The service requirements and capabilities for testing and servicing these systems is dramatically different from the older pump-line-nozzle systems. Systems are now approaching nearly 40,000 PSI with most systems operating in the 30,000 PSI range. Taber Diesel is a Bosch authorized Diesel Service Center and we are proud to have the only Bosch DCI 700 test machine in Canada. This new machine from Bosch is the most accurate in the industry and allows us to test injectors at maximum pressure to ensure when installed in an engine they will work flawlessly.

Back in 1999, the owner of Taber Diesel realized that to properly diagnose and repair the new to the market Powerstroke engine, the injectors needed to be tested. There was no machine on the market available for testing these injectors. Cam took this as a challenge and designed and built a prototype machine. The testing rig named HI2000, for Hydraulic Injection, and the year was widely accepted in the industry. Over the following 5 years, Hydraulic Injection LLC (division of Taber Diesel) manufactured well over 100 of these machines where they are still in service in a dozen countries. Adapters have been made to test the 6.0L, International DT, and Caterpillar applications. As these engines age, the cost of new or rebuilt injectors can be prohibitive to a repair. By being able to test and verify the condition of these HEUI injectors on older engines, costs can be kept down.
